I’m talking Dua Lipa chunky highlights at the part line in the front here, you feel me? This ‘90s hair color inspo has been poppin’ for a while now and it’s expected to grow even more. People are going to take a bolder, more fiery take on it by moving from the classic contrasting blonde/black combo onto brighter colors like neon green and hot pink.
These highlights are a great way to change up hair color with less maintenance (and less damage) than doing a full head of highlights, and can also be easily maintained with a semi-permanent hair dye.
So, what about blondes who are not ready to give up their sun kissed, golden shade? Don’t fret, there’s a way out. With salon capacities lowered to about 25 percent, keeping roots intentionally darker and blending them into lighter ends is a great way - if not the only way - for blondes to be able to extend the life of their hue.
Think about this as a softer version of an ombré - a sombré, if you will - that requires lower maintenance than a traditional highlight.
Red is never going to be out of style. People are always going to gravitate towards it and if you ask somebody - anybody - about it, you’ll find out everyone has thought about dying their hair red at least once in their life.
Warm, vibrant copper reds are leading the way in the hair inspo department; however, if your customers are on a moodier, more dramatic side, burgundy and wine red are always a great way to help them get the red frenzy out of their system.
