Why choose private label organic cosmetics?
When choosing to manufacture private label organic cosmetics, beauty brands should be aware of one thing first: not every synthetic component is bad for the health of the skin and hair, and not every natural ingredient is good.
Having said that, if the skin and hair care line you envision creating wants to be completely organic, HSA can help you develop the most incredible products with the least possible amount of chemicals (it is not possible to achieve 100% organic cosmetics because of international regulations, but we can help you get to the highest percentage).
Manufacturing private label organic cosmetics, in fact, eliminates the possibility of damage that certain synthetic ingredients can cause to the skin and hair of your customers. In fact, sulfates, silicones, and parabens are not always necessary in every formulation and can be substituted with organic elements.
So, if you decide to develop a private label organic cosmetic line, you can rest assured that your products will have a gentle and nutrient action, with exceptional benefits on the health and glow of skin, hair, and scalp.

What’s the difference between natural, clean, and organic cosmetics?
I know, the beauty industry gets chaotic when it comes to the meaning of private label natural, clean, and organic cosmetics. They all seem so similar and yet so different. What’s a professional brand to do to understand what they are? Listen to HSA, of course!
Here, all the nuances of these types of skin care and hair care products will be made clear, once and for all:
PRIVATE LABEL NATURAL COSMETICS
Let’s start with natural skin care and hair care. These products are made with formulations that resort to high-quality natural ingredients. The plus of these products is that they’re free from chemicals because they are plant or mineral-based. But they can also use animal byproducts, so if you want your cosmetics to be vegan and cruelty-free, you should be careful with that.
There’s another thing to add: you cannot always be sure that a cosmetic line is 100% natural. That’s because regulations about it are practically non-existent, and brands can claim their products are natural just because some of the ingredients are.
Finally, as we have mentioned before, natural ingredients aren’t always better than other products. Some of them, if abused in formulations, can lead to irritation or damage to the skin and the hair.
PRIVATE LABEL CLEAN COSMETICS
Let’s move on to clean cosmetics. Their definition is not as precise as for natural products. In fact, clean cosmetics can be focused on:
- sourcing ingredients in a sustainable way
- using minimal or biodegradable packaging
- resorting to non-toxic ingredients
A brand can choose just one of these points or even all three of them. At the end of the day, it’s up to you. No matter what you choose to develop, you can still define your private label cosmetics as “clean”.
Clean products are not strictly regulated on an international level either. But they differ from natural and organic personal care products because they use synthetic elements: clean beauty, in fact, is aware that certain synthetic components can boost the health of the hair and skin, so they don’t restrain from using them.
PRIVATE LABEL ORGANIC COSMETICS
Finally, private label organic cosmetics are those made with mostly natural ingredients that were grown without synthetic products – such as pesticides or fertilizers – and with the utmost respect for the soil, in order to maintain it undamaged.
As we have already mentioned, though, it is not synonymous with natural, because private label organic cosmetics can reach up to 95% of non-chemical ingredients. That’s because these products, unlike the others, are much more regulated by the FDA, which requires them to contain certain preservatives – usually natural but later synthesized in lab.
At the same time, there are several certifications regulating private label organic cosmetics, and this helps make these products safer and sounder. One of these is the USDA certification, which states that every organic ingredient in your line has been manufactured and handled according to established standards.
