WHAT IS COLOR MASK OR CONDITIONER AND WHY IT’S GETTING SO POPULAR
If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past year is that nothing is certain. And this is being reflected in every aspect of people’s lives, even their hair color choices. There’s no certainty about tomorrow and who knows: an all time blonde could wake up one day and suddenly decide to go red, only to go back to blonde a week later. What to do then? That’s exactly what color masks and conditioners are for. Keep reading.
What is a color conditioner or a color mask?
Ever heard about color conditioners and masks? They are semi permanent conditioning hair colors: a temporary, non-damaging alternative to permanent dye. In such an unsure setting, color conditioners and masks are a great way to experiment with a new shade - think of hair tips dipped in hot pink or a full head of baby blue - or to give one’s natural hair color a new twist with added gloss and shine.
Still not sure why you should add color conditioners and masks to your hair color line? We are private label hair color manufacturers and we are here to show you all the wonders of hair colors. By the end of this, you’ll be the one asking for more info. Wanna bet on it?

How does a color conditioner or mask work?
Unlike permanent dye - which lifts the hair cuticles and penetrates the hair’s core - a color conditioner and mask only coats the hair’s surface, without penetrating it.
Color conditioners and masks don’t contain chemicals such as ammonia or peroxide, which means they don't damage hair. Also, they don’t require any development or pre-mixing and they can be applied straight to the hair from the applicator, which makes them so much easier to be done at home: a great asset in a still somewhat pandemic situation.
Usually, color conditioners last up to 8/10 washes. However, it all really depends on the porosity and color of the hair - with color lasting much longer on hair that is especially porous. Also, a color protecting shampoo can help preserve the color a little longer.
When it starts fading out, one can make touch ups with the same color - or a different one - to keep up the shade, or let it revert to the original hair color - which will happen in just a few weeks.
